  Family Counseling Center, Inc. hosted its first Youth Programs Golf Scramble on May 1 at the Gambit Golf Course in Vienna, Illinois. Seventeen 4-person teams participated in the event. • Larry Mizell highlighted among local business leaders
  Executive Director Larry Mizell was highlighted among sixteen business leaders during a community leaders breakfast hosted by John A. Logan College on May 1, 2009. He has also been featured in a two-page article in the Southern Business Journal's annual "Leaders Among Us" issue. From the article:

  Larry Mizell of Vienna worked his way to the top of the Illinois Department of Corrections, serving in various capacities throughout his career. After retiring in 2000, Mizell accepted a role to lead a non-profit agency, the Family Counseling Center, Inc., which provides residential services to developmentally disabled people in Johnson, Hardin and Pope counties. He has led several projects related to this role and remains active in various community groups and boards.
