Developmental Disability Community Integrated Living Arrangement

MISSION:

To promote independence, reside in the least restrictive living environment and promote economic self sufficiency.

27 individuals being served in DD-CILA with an average age of 38.

EFFECTIVENESS:

1. There were 2 individuals from residential that entered more restrictive environments, jail and SODC. 92% either maintained their living environment or improved it.
2. A total of 214 objectives were set with 101 either met or maintained in the DD-CILA program, for an average of 47%.
3. Objective to increase or maintain service level scores using an average change in the ICAP level. Beginning score levels were at 955 with an ending score level of 968, an increase of 48% minimal range of expectancies.

COMMENTS FROM:

• ORH – Staff need to be more patient; work more day shift.
• HTH – Staff should not hurry me.
• CRH –Staff play the TV too loud; burns my toast; staff do not help.

* These issues were addressed in consumer and staff meetings.

STRENGTHS:

• Reputation of providing successful and quality service to difficult to place population/dually diagnosed MI/DD.
• Commitment to families to keep individuals in residential as part of the family unit.

WEAKNESSES:

• Staff turnover in call-in positions
• Staff is under paid compared to other facilities in the outlying geographic areas.
